Partial Map of the Deerfield Street and North Meadows
This partial map of Deerfield, Massachusetts, shows the numbered lots of the town street and north meadows. In this illustration north is at the bottom of the map fragment. The town street is in the upper left corner. House lots on the east side number 43 to 32 and on the west side number 1 to 13. The block of land south of Lot 13 was land sequestered for the ministry and later used for the training field and town common. The numbered lots in the north meadows were for agricultural purposes. These numbers correspond to the homelot numbers on the street (see interactive feature for owners). The linear plan is characteristic of the towns in the Connecticut River Valley.
